The art I share here is mainly a representation of my learning. In order to teach others I've needed to do art. My focus is on Visual Art and Fiber Art. Explorations in color unite both my Visual and Fiber Art.
I sell framed drawings and paintings, prints and cards.
I make and sell jewelry, scarves and other fashion accessories. My Fiber Art products are sold at http://www.NaturasArtClothes.etsy.com.
Materials and Media
Most of the "art" represented here are studies in pencil, pastel, and watercolor. Many of them have been inspired by my favorite resources listed on this Site.
I also hand dye items using natural dyes. I love creating original crochet patterns and items.
I have begun to develop creative crochet patterns that I am publishing into a PDF format.
One of my main influences has been Goethe as his color theory and study of plants offers hope for a true understanding of elements and processes in life and the natural world.
When I think of Art Processes, I think of how does Art help people learn and grow and facilitate meaning in their lives. I am available to teach and am planning to start a blog to explore this. I am also considering developing some webinars.
Some of my favorite resources are: Drawing from the Book of Nature by Dennis Klocek, New Eyes for Plants: A workbook for observing and drawing plants by Margaret Colquhoun & Axel Ewald, and The Individuality of Colour by Elizabeth Koch and Gerald Wagner.
I hope to share lots of good references in the future.
