Before I go on let me say that I am saving and posting interesting information that I find on color from the internet on my Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/NaturasArt. For example there are posts about color libraries and the discovery of a new color of blue as well as dyes and colors.
Blue recedes to the edges. It is generous in it's capacity to hold and make space for the middle. It also recedes in space and maybe in contemplating this you will get a feel for color perspective. It wants to form itself more than many other colors. Try painting just a blue on white and see what happens.
In reading Gerald Wagner in Individuality of Colour yellow rays out in a happy fashion. It wants to spread from the center outward. Trying using watercolors and painting a yellow circle in the middle of white paper. Try to observe and sense what seems natural to yellow. (You could also try colored pencils). Think of the people you know and see if you would call any of them yellow people. What are their qualities? How would you move like yellow? What music reminds you of yellow? The more you invest in observing this color the more the connections will come to you.
